VOTE SERIES 2020: Part II

The Beacon desires to equip you to vote based only on and with your allegiance to our King Jesus. He is the only one that matters for all of us that follow Him and call Him our Lord. Last week, we focused our attention on the San Antonio Christian Platform, which was developed after years of bible study and endorsed by multiple pastors and spiritual leaders across our city.

This week, we would like to focus on the Democratic and Republican platforms, first to compare them to the San Antonio Christian Platform and then to compare them to each other.

Party Platforms are extremely important regarding your vote. It does not really matter if you “like” or “dislike” a candidate (even based on personality) because at the end of the day it is platforms and not personalities that will drive decision making.

Party Platforms act as the foundation for what a candidate believes and stands for. Party Platforms drive decision-making once a candidate is in office. It becomes clear that Party Platforms MUST be researched along with any candidate before placing your vote.

As a follower of Christ, we each have a responsibility to vote for the candidate (and as a direct result Party Platform) that comes closest to scripture and the biblical worldview each of us should value when making any decision, and certainly one as important as your vote.
